The Official CCAA Matching Calendar

The CCAA has matched people with LID through March 31, 2006. Finally they got to me! Referral call received 12/2/09.

My LID (Log In Date) is March 29, 2006

The log-in date is the date that the Chinese Center for Adoption Affairs (CCAA) receives your dossier, translates it, and puts you on the wait list. This is a huge milestone and the start of “the wait”.

Still Waiting . . .

Thank you for your prayers and friendship as we wait together for Abby to come home.

My little angel across the sea . . .

Abby’s Lullaby

My little girl with Asian eyes
It’s time to sing our lullaby
It’s time to rest and go to sleep
But before you drift off for a dream

It’s one more story, one more prayer
God is with you everywhere
One more hug and one more kiss
This time with you I wouldn’t miss
Sleep my baby, my sweet little girl
You have changed my whole world
You have given so much joy to me
Sleep my baby, sweet dreams

Abby girl, it’s that time again
Come sit with me and settle in
Let’s quiet down and snuggle close
For you’re the one I love the most

It’s one more story, one more prayer
God is with you everywhere
One more hug and one more kiss
This time with you I wouldn’t miss
Sleep my baby, my sweet little girl
You have changed my whole world
You have given so much joy to me
Sleep my baby, sweet dreams

Abby, come home soon!

About Me

Becky
I am a single Christian woman from a very large family. I am the youngest of 9 children. I have 21 wonderful nieces and nephews and 6 great nieces and nephews. I am in the process of adopting a baby girl from China. It has been a long process but one that has taught me so much about myself and about God's love for me. I cannot wait to be a mom.

The Red Thread

This has to do with a Chinese Proverb which states; " An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet regardless of time, place or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but it will never break." This proverb is often attached to Chinese adoptions. I've been told that the Chinese believe these children were destined (even before they are born) to be adopted and live in a different country and that the parents are destined to go to China for the child.

Lyrics | Sleeping Beauty - Once Upon A Dream lyrics

Ladybugs are a sign of good luck in the Chinese adoption community. The story goes: one spring, while a group of families awaited for their referrals from China, there was a huge infiltration of ladybugs across the nation and immediately following these sightings a flood of referrals came. The story has passed on so now it is believed that if you see ladybugs that your referral will happen soon!
